Over Aero Contractors
Aero Contractors is a Nigerian carrier founded in 1959 based in Lagos. Aero previously operated charter operations supporting Nigeria’s oil and gas industries. Aero conducted a strategic realignment when the government owned Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON) acquired a majority shareholding in Feb-2016. The company, with a new board, resumed scheduled operations using Boeing 737 and Bombardier Q400 aircraft on a domestic network, as well as maintaining oil and gas charter operations. After receiving certification from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to perform C checks for Boeing 737-300, 737-400 and 737-500 aircraft at its facility at Lagos Murtala Muhammed International Airport, effective 02-Sep-2017, it conducted the first C check on a Boeing 737 aircraft on 04-Jan-2018. Rotary Wing is Aero's charter subsidiary that operates helicopter services to offshore oil and gas stations.
